Even Managing Directors Have to Roll Up Their Sleeves Sometimes...

Though the initial earthworks phase of the project is complete, the initial delays to the project’s getting started, combined with the fact that there is no irrigation facility on-site, has meant that the drainage, cultivation and seeding works have been delayed to ensure the establishing grass sward is not compromised by any hot and dry spells that might be brought by the summer weather. As a result the site has been fenced off to preserve the work completed thus far, and to secure the site more generally.

Having been out visiting other sites in the south, Turfdry MD Melvyn Taylor stopped in at Highlands Park en-route home to the Midlands having received report that one of the fence panels had fallen down. Whilst the early days of Turfdry saw Melvyn regularly rolling up his sleeves and working on sites, and his collar is more white than blue these days, he’s certainly not afraid of a little manual labour. However, the sight that greeted him was not a single panel having fallen down, but an entire row of panels! Despite wishing he had called on some extra hands to assist however, he was determined to fix the issue, so single-handedly re-erected the fence, finishing just before nightfall.
