Turfdry constructed a new pitch for Great Harwood Rovers FC in 2016, on behalf of Reilly Developments had purchased the club’s existing site for commercial development. Having been engaged to undertake a topographical survey once a suitable site had been identified, Turfdry designed a pitch layout to Sport England recommended gradients, and 3D land remodelling using sophisticated LSS software. Following the construction and initial maintenance phases, the project earned considerable praise from the Local Council, the club, and its players. The facility has transformed the club’s match day experience, with the pitch providing a beautiful surface for the game, and the Turfdry Drainage System using Hydraway Sportsdrain keeping waterlogging at bay - despite the notoriously wet weather in the region.
We love to hear from our past clients, and were delighted to learn that Great Harwood Rovers was selected as a partner club by Real Madrid for the 2019 season, and played host to the regional Real Madrid Foundation Clinic in August.
Based on the philosophy of Madrid’s legendary youth academy - “La Cantera” - these training courses are structured around the same innovative training methods employed by Los Blancos, providing children of all skill levels with a taste of elite football training; meanwhile, those demonstrating outstanding potential are selected from across the world to participate in a final held at the Santiago Bernabéu itself.
With the club already benefitting from the high quality sports surface Turfdry is known for, it is fantastic that the quality of our facilities continue to provide opportunities for growth - for Great Harwood Rovers as a football club, and for those children lucky enough to attend the Foundation Clinic.
