“Prior to Turfdry installing land drains in 2015, Glenbrook had a reputation as a very wet and boggy campsite. This meant that we were unable to accommodate campers between October and April because the fields turned into a mud bath! 
From first contact with Melvyn we knew that we were dealing with a professional company that understood the most effective way to drain the fields. It was obvious that there would be no cutting corners when it came to drawing plans and installing the drains and that customer satisfaction was high priority.
The installation was carried out by an efficient and hardworking team who knew their responsibilities which ensured smooth installation within the planned timescale. 
The drainage system has now been in place for 8 years and is so effective that camping is now available all year round with minimal damage to the fields. 
I am in no doubt that the investment in drainage has improved our reputation as a Girlguiding campsite and Turfdry have made this happen - there is something quite satisfying about watching the water gush out of the pipes during a storm and knowing that all that water isn’t sat on the fields with nowhere to go!”

“The fields at Freeston are excellent and probably one of the best around for school fields. Many of our visiting schools regularly moment on how good they are particularly through the bad winter months. Many games remain playable due to the excellent state of our fixture, whereas many of our opponents have to call fixtures off. This has obviously made a big difference in allowing outdoor lessons to remain outside.

"Exteter Athletic RFC contracted with Turfdry to drain 3 rugby pitches in a challenging, flat environment, with a high water-table and a reasonably heavy clay-based soil type. The project was being funded in conjunction with a club partner that was complicated legally, had to be completed in a short time-frame to release funds in time for Turfdry’s planning, and against a fast-closing autumn timeline window of opportunity.
Turfdry were very understanding of the situation and were willing to schedule planned works even though ink had yet to be appllied to all of the related agreements and contracts.
When the ink was dry, Turfdry were able to deploy in rapid fashion, in line with indicative conversations to commence works in October 2020. The weather was good, to enabe two pitches to be completed as planned. The weather then changed, but Turfdry managed to complete the project with minimal damage to the surrounding area. Despite these challenging conditions, combined with some extra works and a contracted return visit in the spring, the end result has been fantastic and proved to be a great investment for the club to extend the playability of the pitches at wetter times during the rugby season.
The Turfdry team lived on-site during the works and were very considerate to neighbours. Our neighbours were not used to the facilities being occupied outside of normal club hours, and so Stuart - Turfdry’s project Foreman - did a great job putting his diplomatic skills to good use.
At the end of the project when we came to rounding up the financial position (as unexpected costs will always feature in any such project), we found that Turfdry’s MD Melvyn and his team took a very balanced and reasonable view, to add value to the project to help the club offset valid and reasonable costs.
Exeter Athletic RFC would like to wholeheartedly thank Melvyn and the Turfdry team for a job well done. We would recommend them to anyone considering sports field and amenity drainage projects.”
