Turfdry as first approached by the Head Greenkeeper (Richard Bradshaw) and Greens Chairman (Keith Wilson) from Huyton & Prescot GC in 2000, to look at drainage improvements throughout the course covering a large number of fairways and certain greens.

Following the consideration of proposals from various potential contractors, Turfdry was chosen as the preferred contractor and comprehensive proposals were drawn up for installing the Turfdry Drainage System with Hydraway Sportsdrain.

The original proposals, together with some additional works, were carried out over the next few years with the new drainage proving a great success, not only drastically reducing the number of closures due to waterlogging, but also in transforming the course in terms of its condition during wet winter weather.
