Golf Course Fairway Drainage - Plastic Pipe
In 2006, Ashbourne Golf Club in Derbyshire appointed the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI) to design fairways drainage systems their 11th, 12th, and 13th fairways which were prone to severe waterlogging and were closed throughout most of the winter months each year.
The proposed scheme involved around 6,000 metres of drainage in total, with 80mm plastic pipe laterals proposed at 5 metre centres connecting to 100 mm and 150 mm carrier drains, and STRI was also appointed to invite a number of specialist land drainage contractors to tender for the works.
Turfdry submitted the most competitive price for the works and carried out the drainage installation in the summer of 2006 to the complete satisfaction of the STRI supervisor (Mr Jonathan Tucker) and the appointed representatives of Ashbourne Golf Club.
