A computer generated mock-up of the new ponds to surround the 18th green proposed by Rayleigh Club owner Jamie Saitch.
The new pond takes shape in view of the clubhouse in the background.
The pond is constructed to the specifications of the 3D model, with the excavator's laser-control system linked to the computer design, and executed by skilled operators.
The pond is constructed with stepped batters - which not only helps with post-construction planting, but also is key to an optimally safe water feature.
The new water features - such as this 'clover' shaped pond which sits near the 12th fairway, 13th green, and 14th tee - were designed to provide pleasant views from as many angles as possible, to enrich multiple holes.
Land reshaping works around existing water features - such as the one pictured here - have brought an elegant and unified aesthetic to the ponds across the course.
Excavated material from pond construction has been incorporated into the course landscape, and will soon blend in with beautiful new contours to the owner's specification.
Construction underway of a new tee to take advantage of the increasingly dramatic surrounds of the 5th hole.
Construction of the new tee on the 5th hole is facilitated by material transported from excavations taking place elsewhere on the course - such as the creation of a subtly graded mound seen in the background.
Course owner Jamie Saitch and Turfdry MD Melvyn Taylor discuss construction of a new bunker, next to newly constructed pond.
